Instagram profile checklist: 9 fixes that make a business look professional
Before people message you, they check your profile. These nine quick fixes make your Instagram look trustworthy and turn visitors into clients.
Before a potential client sends you a message, they look at your Instagram profile for a few seconds. In that time, they decide whether you look professional and trustworthy.
Here are nine fixes you can make, most of them in less than an hour.
1. A clear profile picture
Use your logo icon or a clean, well-lit photo if you are the brand. Make sure it's readable at a small size. Avoid full logos with tiny text.
2. A searchable name field
The name field is searchable. Add a keyword next to your brand name, for example “Parlex Studio | Branding & Design.”
3. A bio that answers three questions
What do you do, who is it for, and what should people do next? Skip vague quotes. Be specific.
4. One clear link
Link to your website, a landing page or a WhatsApp chat. If you use a link page with several options, keep them few and clear.
5. Contact buttons
Switch to a business or creator account and add email, phone or WhatsApp buttons, so people can reach you with one tap.
6. Organized highlights
Use highlights like a mini website: Services, Work, Reviews, Process, FAQ. Give them simple matching covers in your brand colors.
7. A consistent grid
Your last nine posts should look like they come from the same brand: same colors, fonts and style. Templates make this easy.
8. Pinned posts that sell
Pin three posts to the top: one that explains what you do, one that shows your best work, and one with real client feedback.
9. Recent activity
A profile with no posts for months looks closed. You don't need to post every day, but you need to post regularly.
